Very few players learn Magic in a vacuum. You can only get so far by reading the rules and powering through Duels of the Planeswalkers. Magic: the Gathering is a complicated game with hundreds of pages of rules, but beyond that it’s a game of strategy, tactics, and decision making that you can only get better at by playing with people who know more than you do. We’ve all learned from others, whether through direct teaching, through watching, or through listening over podcasts and video streams.
For this episode, I’d like to hear about the person who taught you the rules, helped you get a feel for the game, and kept you interested through the frustrations of the learning process. Please don’t include any names in your submission without the express permission of the person mentioned.
